Arturo has been a friend to me since the 5th grade. well, it was untill recently when we became friends. Back then we were nothing more than aquaintences. I still remember the time when he threw a party and invited everyone in class exept for me and a few others. but its ok. the past is in the past. he doesnt remember and i still walk around predending i dont either. so, anyway Arturo has liked this girl whom is another one of my friends, Yoshimi. They have been talking a lot lately and Arturo has started to develope feelings for her. it was a bit obvious that Yoshimi had just wanted to remain friends but Arturo was blind to the signals. I sat with them and a few others when they were together and felt like the unessessary fifth wheel.
(Well thats not so bad. i sit next to couples eating the other's face off and your the only single one just trying to enjoy food...not face.)
So, then i started thinking. If Arturo and Yoshimi start going out, Michelle already has a boyfriend and so does Beatrise...I would be the only single person at the table for Collage Prep. I havnt had a boyfriend since eighth grade and that was a year and a bit ago. i need to get out more -___- i need to feel the thug life run through my veins. But, then again i have zero guts so that rules out being a pimp in the future for me.
Class came and went most of it was me listening to music and talking to Michele about BEK's (Black Eyed Kids). and i knew that Arturo was going to ask Yoshimi out. i was happy but had a serious intuition that she would say no. I stood about car's lenghth away from them to give them space but did have an ear posted on their conversation and this is how it went.
"Hey Yoshimi i wanted to tell you something" Said Arturo
"Yeah?"
"Well, i like you...a lot." He studdered a bit.
"Im sorry i just dont like you back" she said. She seemed a bit suprised that he would come up with that.
After the rejection Arturo just gave Yoshimi a chocolate rose he had boughten for her and walked away.
Yoshimi was a bit shaken up when i spoke to her after the rejection. "I hurt too many feelings" she said sadly. i couldnt help but feel bad for her, both of them. she didnt know the proposale was coming and he didnt see the rejection coming. both had hit them square in the face.
I had talked to Arturo later on my way walking home "Are you ok?" i asked
"Yeah im fine" he was strumming his ukalale nervously so i knew he was lying.
"Your prabably bummed out about it, huh?"
"Yeah really..."
"Can you cope?"
He didnt answer.
i was almost home so i said, "I hope you can still be friends with eachother." and we parted ways.
I sencerily hope Arturo has more luck in the future because i dont like seing any of my friends sad.
I also hope Yoshimi and him can still be friends. but then again there is always going to be that awkwardness whenever they would be together.
